These signs start cropping up all over town in rural Maine this time of year. With the drastic swings in temperatures that we experience in the Spring, the Earth buckles underneath the tar roads and causes upheavals called Frost Heaves. These signs are supposed to warn motorists that the road is bad and that they should slow down. Of course, we've got so many frost heaves in 'Main St.' that this is how you usually see the sign as you are driving by...
