Quite often we hear the owls hooting to each other in the woods at night along with the coyotes hunting, rabbits having been caught by said coyotes, raccoons copulating, etc... but it isn't often that we get to see the owls up and about in the middle of the daylight hours.

I have heard them at night as well, but never had the privelege of seeing one.
I just got my first raccoon sighting/photos last weekend, such a thrill! (But hopefully she won't hang around too long.)
This one seems to enjoy sunning in one of the trees right next to Bill and Len's driveway. Look for it midmorning. :)
That is a barred owl. There is one in the woods behind my house as well.

The birds do so love hanging out with Bill and Len, and who can blame them? Such a lovely spot. ;)
I've been looking for mr. owl, but no luck yet.
