I been a professional photographer since I worked for the US Government documenting Test and Evaluation of Research and Development projects for the US Army and US Navy in the later half of the 1980s. I came home to Maine to finish my Marketing Degree at USM and began to work full time in Market Research and Marketing for many years while documenting weddings and occasional photojournalist and commercial jobs on the weekends. In 2001 I again returned to photography as a full time trade and have never been a happier man. I love working with creative individuals, couples, small businesses and select Non-Profits and can’t imagine working in any other trade. In 1987 I was lucky enough to wed my high school sweetheart and we now live in a cozy little solar powered, recycled bungalow a mile deep in our woods in the Western Hills of Maine with our two brilliant home-schooled teenage daughters and our three cats.

Denmark Democratic Caucus, 2008

The Denmark Democrats Caucused at the town's wonderful library on the 9th of February. Obama 30, Clinton 23, Edwards 2, Gravel not even mentioned or brought up. Each of the two leading candidates will receive one of the Denmark Democrats two Delegates votes.

All in all a better turn out than the Republicans managed for a town with slightly fewer registered Democrats that Republicans. Of course, like most rural Maine towns, Denmark has more registered voters who are not affiliated with any party than we have Republicans, Greens and Democrats combined.

I just LOVE the smell of participatory democracy and toll house cookies on a bad weather day!

Thank you for sharing and posting those wonderful photos Michael! I'm sorry I didn't officially introduce myself to you that day, kicked myself when I got home for having a case of shyness!

I especially love how you get that "fisheye" look on those wide shots..Cool! And that photo of Dick Hook is as regal and grand as he is in person. Thanks again! I'll have to pass the link on to my Dad.

It is nice to see people getting into politics... especially in a small place like Maine where you caucus with your neighbors, which often leads to meaningful discussions!

Wow, it's about time I looked at these great photos! Wonderful and clear slide show showing the people sitting around with their various expressions of curiosity or whatever. Thanks for posting those. Really interesting.
